This page presents a listing of articles about
email, especially as it relates to email over the air via packet radio.
During times of emergency, airborne email can offer a much wider range
of service then usually considered. Aside from bulletins, memos, and
personal letters, email can encorporate documentation types that include
images, sound, html, and even cross-platform spreadsheet or word processing
files. By combining PINE with the *NOS family of packet radio mail servers,
on both the sending and receiving machines, an internet-like and internet
compatible mail system can be setup to communicate an extensive "palette"
of information format types... rivaling the internet in every category
but speed.
Email is a vast subject. However, the local articles may be somewhat
unique in that they attempt to combine the Linux OS and JNOS in rather
unexpected, but interesting, and it is hoped, usefully applicable ways.
External references have been included to supply sources of complete
and detailed coverage, to help flatten out that learning curve...
